What About That Cover?

Cover Reveal Approaching

The final touches on Prossia are underway, so it's only a matter of putting everything together. One of the final items to be covered is the cover, which was finished this past week. Be on the lookout for the reveal to the new and improved version of my first novel. Now, if I could just get to that prequel...

Let’s Talk About the Prequel

Oi. With all this talk about republishing Prossia, it's probably easy to forget that a prequel will be coming right off its shoulders. Operation: Sand Gnat (I love my code names for things :P) will be available this November in digital format for free. Yep. You heard me. Free FREE FREE. I've explained before that readers shouldn't have to wait 3 years for an author to produce another book. So, here's my way of saying, "My bad!"

So, what can one expect from a Prossia prequel? Well, there'll be plenty of action, of course, but I always like to have some sort of underlying message. Sand Gnat will bring readers twelve years back before Alytchai, Catty, and the rest of Gooliun learned about the galactic war with the Cyogen. You'll see them at the ripe age of five, and follow them all the way up to their adolescent years as they prepare for a local rite of passage of sorts. The pressure is being put on them more than the classes before them for numerous reasons, and Aly and Catty in particular both have extra standards to live up to. Aly's father, Shanvi, was the famous sparring instructor for her entire village, whereas Catty was born into nobility, since she's the daughter to the village's field lord, Quongun.

Thing is, it's not the village the two are worried about getting approval from. It's their peers. Aly can't seem to muster up the ability to make pure energy from her hands the way everyone else can, while Catty is scuffed at for being too good at the act, being hailed as a child prodigy from the grownups. Friendships will be challenged and priorities will change as we watch these two young people grow into the soldiers they'll later become.

Be on the lookout for more Sand Gnat info in the not-so-fat-off future. ^_^

What the Heck Is Pirate Bee???

I really haven't opened up a great deal about my other projects beyond Prossia, so I know a lot of people are scratching their heads whenever I post something about Operation: Pirate Bee (OPB); that or they simply go "meh." :P Either reaction is understandable and okay, actually. As a matter of fact, such reactions are exactly what I currently want for my next main project. See, right now is the time for me to push the adventures of green alien chicks growing up and kicking @$$ in a galactic war. ;) Anything beyond that is simple static...though I obviously want some of your attention already, given the current nine ads I have online. Still, as publishing dates for my Prossia books near, I guess I can offer a little insight on what to expect from OPB. So, here's what we can cover right now:
  1. Given that I don't have a problem posting it up on the club wall, I guess it should already be assumed that this will be another sci-fi book.
  2. If this isn't another obvious one, (it's mentioned in every single ad I've done for it) revolting is a major subject matter.
  3. My hope is for OPB -- like so many good sci-fi novels -- to raise up some conversation on our own various societies, even if some of the people in the story aren't human. Oops! ... Oh come on! Honestly, when was the last time you saw a person walking down the street with a face like the one above?
  4. OPB -- like Prossia -- is planned to be part of a series.
There! Shutting the doors! I've said too much! Hee hee. I know; that's not a lot at all. Don't worry, though. You'll get some more. I promise!

Prossia Progress

Prossia's Protagonist

Oi. It just keeps on going! :P If you follow the Prossial Novel Page or my Twitter account, you'd know that I finished my final edit of the republished manuscript of Prossia last month. So, now that this is all said and done, that means its ready to get published, right? LOL! If only!

I'm planning on distributing the book on various formats (Kindle, Nook, Print, Smashwords, etc.) and everyone has a particular rule to follow when it comes to the style/formatting. And, since I'm quite the novice in all of this (Xlibris originally did all the formatting for me), I'll have to go the trial-and-error route. But don't lose heart! Progress is being made everyday...well, okay. Maybe not this past weekend. Blame DragonCon! :P IN reality, though, there still doesn't seem to be any set back on when the book will be republished. And when did I say it will be republished? Ahhhh, the genius in me never gave a date. Mu hu wah hahahaha!!!!

...Though I did say the prequel would be out due November, didn't I? Doh! Guess that means I got a lot of work to do. Unfortunately, this means there won't be any time to run a real Prossia Anniversary Celebration, as I've done the past three years. Then again, I don't even think this year should count. Why, I don't even have the original book on sale! LOL! But in all good fairness, I will still use the month to open up talk about what my readers should look forward to really soon. Speaking of which...
